ODT Big Night In OD Glee cast

 

  MITCHELL FULTON: Mitchell is aged 14 and in his 5th year of vocal tuition with Gladys Hope starting when he was just 9 years old. Previous shows/musicals include Carmen (Otago University), Honk! (Billy), Oliver! (Captain) and the cast of My Fair Lady for Taieri Musical . He was also cast in Monty Pythons ‘SPAMALOT’ and this year played Orin, one of the leads in Little Shop of Horrors for Bayfield High School. Concerts and events include the 2005 Christmas In The Park (Dunedin), Several Age Concern concerts and performances at the Octagon Markets (Thieves Alley Market) and the 2007 Mayoral concert.
       

 

  EDWARD O’DRISCOLL: Edward is 15 years old, and attends Kavanagh College. He is thrilled to be performing in this amazing event. Earlier this year, Edward was in the cast of My Fair Lady for Taieri Musical Society and in 2010 their production of Oliver! Edward has been in four productions for Kavanagh College being Footloose, Disco Inferno, Jesus Christ Superstar, and this years production of Grease where he played the role of Roger. In 2009, Edward played the part of Mongo in High School Musical: On Stage for Epiphany Productions. He currently studies singing with Bridget Telfer, and Tap with Denise Henderson.
       

 

  BEN THOMAS: Ben is a 17 year old performer in his final year at Taieri College. Over the years he has appeared in many productions,with 2011 being his busiest year to date. Recent highlights include My Fair Lady and performing for the reopening of the Regent Theatre in July. He has played the lead in his last three school productions, and balances performing with his role as Arts Prefect, Student Council President, playing goalie for his school water polo team, and learning singing from Catherine Short. Ben is looking forward to this exciting opportunity to perform with such an amazing cast.
       

 

  EVAN FENEMOR: Evan has participated as a member of an Ensemble and chorus in his school production of 'Little Shop of Horrors', Cinderellas Father in his performing arts programme production of 'Into the Woods',Coach Roger Dunbar in Kavanagh Colleges 'Footloose'. Duke in Kavanaghs' 'Disco Inferno'. Judas in Kavanaghs' ' Jesus Christ Superstar', and Kenickie in Kavanaghs' Grease', He has also performed in various school Pantomimes, finally he has performed as a Dancer and Singer in Dunedin Operatics 'Music of the Knight' on the Regent Stage. He has also done various other drama performances for NCEA level 1,2 and 3.
       

 

  ELEANOR ALDRIDGE: At 16 Eleanor is well on her way to an exciting career as a musician. She was regional winner of the 2010 Smokefree Rockquest Womanmusicianship award and lyric writing award, and Battle of the Bands fronting the band ‘Aftershock’. Eleanor has performed at Parachute music festival, been a regular in Dunedin Isis bar and is often seen buskingwith her talented friend Ruby Fraser (guitarist).Eleanor's RnB style was influenced by Alicia Keys. She was taught by the late Dessie Norteir, has been inspired by her musical family, and also by Craig Reeves from the 'Oxo Cubans' in Dunedin.
       

    ANALIESE NELSON: Annalise is a year 12 student at Geraldine High School with a passion for the performing arts Learning tap dancing for five years from the age of seven generated a particular love for song and dance . Since then Annalise has studied jazz,hip hop and ballet alongside drama and singing . Annalise has been actively involved in the annual South Canterbury Junior Drama League productions since age ten with highlights including playing the role of Annie in 'Annie ' in 2006 and Maid Marion in 'Robin Hood' in 2011. Other productions have included Nunsense , The House of Bernada Alba, and annual school productions .
       

 

  BRYONY HARRISON: Bryony Harrison is 17 years old, lives in Balclutha and attends St Peter's College, Gore. She loves school, sports and cultural activities and would like to one day attend Otago University to become a Pediatrician. Other options would be to study music or dance in France. Bryony has represented Otago in Athletics and Gymnastics attending four national competitions. She has been dancing since the age of five and singing since she could talk. Bryony loves to perform, whether it be music, dance or performing in stage shows.
       

 

  ROSALIND MANOWITZ: Rosalind has a passion for dance, drama and music. She has learned ballet since she was 4, followed by jazz and hip hop. She choreographed, recorded the soundtrack for, and played the lead female ballet role in the winning Otago Stage Challenge. Her achievements include flute (ATCL), violin and singing (grade 7 distinction), principal violist of the NZ Secondary Schools Orchestra and Dunedin Youth Orchestra, Conductor of LPHS Orchestra, soloist with Otago Symphonic Band, trombonist in LPHS Jazz Band, and instrumentalist/vocalist in Gypsy-Klezmer band ‘Baba Yaga’. This year she was selected for the NZSO mentoring programme and ‘ODT Class Act’.
       

 

  LOUISA (MARV) KOPA:– GORE Louisa (Marv) has been performing for 4 years now and enjoys taking part in School Musicals and Town Theatricals including Class of '77, Peter Pan Crock Rock, Back to the 80's, Seussical, Mikado, Silver Show time, Wizard of Oz and Stage Challenge. She has also been heavily involved in performing in and for her community along with her brother and sister. Together, they sing in three part harmony and enjoy taking part in events such as weddings, fundraisers and concerts. Marv takes a lot of interest in guitar and piano and is currently working on Music, Dance and Drama NCEA Level 3
       

 


 

CALLUM FISHER: I have performed in primary school productions in Queenstown and Dunedin – and in Queenstown’s production of Rush. In Dunedin I performed in the OBHS/OGHS 2011 production Footloose. I am in the Otago Boys’ High School Choir and also the OB/OGHS selected voices, Barock Choir. Both were finalists in this year’s Big Sing National Finale in Wellington. I am looking forward to performing in The Big Night In.

 

       

 


  SAM MADDEN: I am taught classical singing by Patricia Scally-Richardson I also sing for the Otago Boys’ High School Choir and have been a member of the St Paul’s Cathedral Choir for 10 years. I sang a lead in the OBHS/OGHS 2011 production Footloose. The highlight of my singing career to date is being selected for the New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir. I have been placed second twice in the NZATS Cleveland Singing Competition. I am looking forward to singing in front of a huge crowd in the stadium for The Big Night In.
       

 

  ZAC SEALES: I have been in a few productions, the most recent as a soloist in the OBHS/OGHS 2011 production Footloose. I performed in High School Musical in 2009. I am a member of the Otago Boys’ High School Choir which travelled in May this year to Brisbane, and also the OG/OBHS selected voices Barock Choir both of which competed in the National Finale of the Big Sing in Wellington. I look forward to participating in The Big Night In, making some new friends and having fun, singing and dancing in front of a huge crowd.
       

 



 

CONNOR BLACKIE: I play guitar and piano and sing in the OBHS Choir and OB/OGHS selected voices Barock Choir. I sing Tenor, Baritone and Bass in these Choirs which were among the top 18 in The Big Sing National Finale in Wellington this year. In 2010 and 2011 I competed successfully in The Modern School of Music Guitar competitions in Gore, winning the award for most points overall and this year was Highly Commended in the Big River Talent Quest.

       

 




 

STEPH O’BRIEN: Steph is completing her final year at Queens High, and is really excited to be performing at this fabulous event. She is currently receiving vocal training from Bridget Telfer, learns guitar from Anthony Breese and learnt jazz dance for seven years. Steph loves being on stage, and over recent years she has performed in a number of shows including “Annie” and “Encore”, as well as school musicals – most recently in a lead role in the Queens and Kings Productions of “The Wiz”. Steph feels privileged to be part of this production, and to be working alongside such a talented cast and crew.

       

   

HANNAH LINDSAY: I love music and singing with a passion. For the last three years I have had singing lessons, my teacher Gordon Jones has taught me so much and given me the confidence to perform on stage. I have performed and gained awards in the Central Coast Country Music Awards, Whitestone Music Awards, Silverstream Talent Quest and the Golden Guitars. A highlight this year was making the final of the Duo section at the Gold Guitars. Prior to singing I learnt Tap for seven years and Hip Hop for a year. I have taken part in many school productions and love being on the stage and entertaining.
