Canterbury captain Stephen Ratu has been added to the New
Zealand men's softball squad to contest the the world
championships in Canada in July.
Ratu replaces Wellington's Aaron Neemia who withdrew from the
Black Sox squad for personal reasons.
Catcher Ratu's inclusion ends a frustrating six months.
His involvement with the national team ended prematurely
after a back injury forced him to return home early from
their tour of Argentina late last year.
He joins three other Cantabrians in the squad - Daniel Milne,
Gareth Cook and Travis Wilson.
New Zealand squad: Ben Enoka, Roman Gabriel, Donny Hale,
Nathan Nukunuku, Heinie Shannon, Patrick Shannon (Auckland),
Gareth Cooke, Daniel Milne, Travis Wilson, Stephen Ratu
(Canterbury), Jeremy Manley, Rhys Casley (Hutt Valley),
Thomas Enoka, Brad Rona (North Harbour), Marty Grant
(Southern Pride), Jarrad Martin, Thomas Makea (Wellington)
