All Black lock Isaac Ross makes his return as one of two
changes to the Crusaders' starting line-up to face the Chiefs
in a Super 14 rugby match in Hamilton on Friday night.
Ross, who has been coming off the bench since getting over an
ankle sprain, replaces impressive rookie Sam Whitelock, who
gets a spell in the reserves after four consecutive
appearances in the run-on side.
However, there is no place in the 22 for former test lock
Chris Jack, who has been hampered by a wrist problem since
his return from playing overseas.
Jack had his first match of the season last week, turning out
for the Crusaders' development side.
In the other change in the run-on side, Kahn Fotuali'i steps
in for All Black halfback Andy Ellis, who received a head
knock in the win over the Blues last weekend.
Crusaders: Jared Payne, Sean Maitland, Robbie Fruean,
Ryan Crotty, Zac Guildford, Daniel Carter, Kahn Fotuali'i,
Kieran Read, George Whitelock, Richie McCaw (captain), Isaac
Ross, Brad Thorn, Owen Franks, Ti'i Paulo, Wyatt Crockett.
Reserves: Corey Flynn, Ben Franks/Peter Borlase, Sam
Whitelock, Thomas Waldrom/Jonathan Poff, Willi Heinz, Adam
Whitelock, Colin Slade.
