The latest poll shows National still retaining very high
levels of political support.
The latest Roy Morgan NZ poll put National on 53.5 percent,
up 1.5 percentage points since the last poll.
Labour was down 1.5 percentage points to 31.5 percent, while
National's support partners were unchanged with the Maori
Party on 2.5 percent and ACT on 1.5 percent.
Support for the Greens was also unchanged on 8 percent and
New Zealand First, which did not return to Parliament after
the 2008 election recorded 2 percent support.
Most of those polled were also positive about the future with
65 percent (up 1 percentage point) saying New Zealand is
'heading in the right direction' compared to 24.5 percent
(down 0.5 percent) that say New Zealand is 'heading in the
wrong direction.'
The poll of 889 electors was conducted from February 15 to
28.
