Otago Polytechnic has won a Microsoft Innovation Award for a
resource which makes performance data easily accessible for
all staff.
The polytechnic business solutions manager Gayle Reihana said
its "performance portal" enabled schools and service areas to
quickly and accurately gauge their performance.
"Nowadays, organisations constantly put data into systems,
and yet when it's needed quickly it can seem so hard to
extract the information required.
"The performance portal has really changed that at Otago
Polytechnic," Ms Reihana said.
The performance portal was awarded the Microsoft Award for
"Innovation in Integrating Everything for the Organisation".
Judges said they were impressed by the polytechnic's
pragmatic approach.
Polytechnic chief executive Phil Ker said he was delighted
the initiative had received national acclaim.
"Our performance portalhas vastly improved the transparency
of our performance data," he said.
