Deloitte Dunedin managing partner Mike Horne has been appointed to the Otago Polytechnic council by Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment Minister Steven Joyce.
Mr Horne, who has recently overseen the Fast 50 competition in Otago, has worked for Deloitte for 20 years.
Presbyterian Support Otago chief executive Gillian Bremner, an existing ministerial appointment, has been made council deputy chairwoman.
Sussan Turner, who was chief executive of Radio Otago before becoming chief executive of Mediaworks, has been appointed to the Auckland University of Technology council.
