Dunedin police are urging people to be aware of their
personal safety after an attack on a female student last
night.
Detective Sergeant Brett Roberts said the 19-year-old was
walking through the University of Otago, near the clocktower
building, about 7pm when she was allegedly grabbed from
behind and groped by a man.
When she screamed her attacker ran away, towards the Archway.
Two people were seen walking in the area at the time and
could have seen the offender, who was wearing a dark top,
light coloured trousers, and a dark coloured
over-the-shoulder satchel, he said.
The victim was uninjured and immediately contacted police.
