The time of the year when students queue for the best
seats "in the house" has returned.
Exam time is back and study space is at a premium at
University of Otago libraries, an Otago University Students
Association spokesman says.
Large queues have formed most mornings outside the central
information services building for the traditional "library
run", when "everyone hustles for the best study seats in the
house", OUSA communications spokesman Alasdair Johnston said.
Most of the university's more than 21,000 students will have
been preparing in contemplation of their exams, which started
yesterday.
The OUSA prepared 1000 study and exam preparation packs,
which were given out to the first students through the doors
of the central library yesterday morning, Mr Johnston said.
The packs contain study "essentials", such as chocolate, exam
tips, spare pens and notepaper, and packs of two-minute
noodles, he said.
Free "study" breakfasts have also been set up by OUSA from
its Student Services hub on Ethel Benjamin Ple, every morning
until the end of exams, Mr Johnston said.
Exams at the University of Otago finish on Saturday, November
12.
