OUSA voting begins

Voting begins today in the Otago University Students Association (OUSA) by-elections for four executive positions.

Nominations for the OUSA executive vacancies closed on Thursday at 4pm.

Students have from 9am today to 4pm Wednesday to vote for their preferred representatives through the OUSA's website.

A lack of candidates at the OUSA elections in October last year forced the student body to hold a second set of elections to fill its executive committee for 2012.

The positions of administrative vice-president, international students officer, campaigns officer and colleges officer are vacant.

Nominated for administrative vice-president are Kieran Anderson, Mathew Jordan, Jonathan Rowe and Daniel Stride.

Shane Corrigan and Ding (Yi) Ding have been nominated for the international students officer job, while Todd Dickens, Scott Lee, Angus McDonald and Derwin Smith are vying for the position of campaigns officer.

Colleges officer is being contested by Juana Diesing, Scott Lee and Maddie Harris.

Results will be announced by the OUSA shortly after voting closes.
