A leading expert on the formulation of cancer vaccines has
been appointed to the University of Otago's Chair in
Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Associate Prof Sarah Hook will take up her professorial
position at the school in February. Prof Hook, who works for
the Otago University's School of Pharmacy, researches cancer
therapeutics, including a vaccine for melanoma. Otago
University vice-chancellor Prof Harlene Hayne said she was
delighted Prof Hook had been appointed to the chair. Prof
Hook has been
attracting research funding and industry contracts and in the
past 10 years has been involved in research grants worth more
than $7 million.
