New dean appointed

Canadian pharmacy researcher Carlo Marra has been appointed as the new dean of the Univer-sity of Otago's School of Pharmacy.

Prof Marra is the dean of the School of Pharmacy at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

He will take up his new position at the start of August, replacing Prof Steve Duffull who has been in the role since 2010 and will continue as the school's professor of clinical pharmacy.

Prof Marra's research has mainly focused on health economics, quality of life research and respiratory diseases.
