University of Otago students did glow yoga at the Otago University Students' Association Clubs & Societies Centre in Dunedin last night.

OUSA glow yoga instructor Josh Smith said the glow yoga sessions were held at universities around the world but it was the first to be held at the University of Otago.

The participants were encouraged to wear white clothing, neon bodypaint and glow sticks to radiate colour under the black lights.

Miss Paterson (21), of Queenstown, said the yoga was a "fun break from study''.

Miss Dyer (20), of Auckland, painted a neon apple tree on one of Miss Paterson's arms for the session.

Mr Smith asked the participants to focus on their breathing, rather than yesterday, today or tomorrow.

"Feel all the stress and all the day, wash away.''
