Party to celebrate indie authors, press

The Indie Writers' Group, formed to encourage writers, readers, libraries and bookshops to celebrate independent authors and small presses, is holding a party and novel launch at the Oamaru Library at 6pm tonight.''

We are celebrating indie writers and Nathalie Brown and Dorothy McKenzie will be there to join the fun,'' Prof P.D.R. Lindsay-Salmon, who is co-ordinating the celebration, including the launch of her novel Tizzie, said.

The Indie Writers Group hopes to launch a website, KiwiReads, later this year.

The site will showcase both print and e-books published by traditional and independent publishers.

Independent writers who have books they would like displayed, or who would like to talk about their work ortake part in the celebrations are invited to contact P.D.R. Lindsay-Salmon at pdrlindsay@slingshot.co.nz.
