Fence, by Eddie Clemens.
The 2009 University of Otago Frances Hodgkins Fellow,
Eddie Clemens, has unveiled a futuristic exhibition at the
Hocken Gallery.
"Delusional Architecture" features five installations that
investigate the increasing use of special effects in
entertainment and society's insatiable desire for escapism.
The title of the exhibition was taken from the 1991 movie
Terminator 2: Judgment Day and the works use effects
such as glowing broom bristles, hidden miniature fans and
modulating LED and RGB coloured-light sequences to transform
mundane objects into animated, whimsical sculptures.
"Delusional Architecture" is on at the Hocken Gallery until
April 24.
