Tom Holland says he is under "a lot of pressure" to embody Spider-Man.

The 19-year-old actor - who is depicting the legendary comic character in the Marvel film series - doesn't want to disappoint fans and is glad there is pressure as he finds it gives him "motivation to work even harder".

He said: "There is a lot of pressure but I love pressure - it gives you motivation to work even harder. And I know Marvel have got a great team behind the writing and I think we're going to make a really good movie.

"Yeah .. life will change. I probably won't be able to walk down the street for a certain period of time."

And Tom also admits he has only recently started to really enjoying reading a variety of comic books.

He added to Total Film magazine: "I loved TV shows, I loved the films ... and I read a fair few, but I'd never go to the comic-book store and buy comics.

"But now with what's happened I've been reading comics relentlessly, and not just Spider-man comics. All sorts. I'm a huge fan of Daredevil and Punisher and all of those."

Meanwhile, Tom previously admitted he was "terrified" of his 'Captain America: Civil War' co-star Robert Downey Jr when they first met.

He told BANG Showbiz: "He is so cool. Robert Downey Jr is awesome. I first met him at my first screen test and obviously I thought Robert was terrifying but once I met him, he was down to earth, really cool and easy going.

"We got on really well and we work very well together. I'm just so happy these guys gave me the opportunity."
