'Tomb Raider' worth a look

Yes, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is the same game that came out last year, but that does not mean it is not worth playing through again.

Five stars (out of five)

For those who missed out on playing the reboot of the series last year, there is absolutely no excuse for you to miss out on it now. Technically, yes the game is exactly the same.

You are a young Lara Croft, making her mark in the world with her fellow archaeologists.

Upon entering the Dragon's Triangle in search of the lost civilisation of Yamatai, a storm wipes out the boat, leaving you stranded on the island, left to fend for yourself against both the crazy occultist occupants and the island itself.

On the new consoles though, it is a huge step up in terms of the way it plays.

I will not go into the technicalities, but the environment, weather, character modelling and animations are superb.

Clearly, Lara uses Pantene, too, because her hair flows like a dream.

On top of this, the game is silky smooth, and it really makes a tangible change in how the game plays.

Enemy movements (and Lara's) are smooth, more realistic, and it provides a far more engrossing experience.

Tomb Raider lost its way in the past decade, losing ground to games such as Uncharted, but this game has brought it right back into the fray.

It is outstanding, from the second it starts to its blockbuster ending.

Get out your adventurer boots and check it out.
