Pop princess Kylie Minogue says she's been harassed by an online stalker making threats over Twitter.

The singer told her million-plus Twitter base that she has reported a series of creepy messages to police.

"I love 1,033,861 of you LOVERS, but 1 is not a lover, just a deluded weirdo making threat #andthatdoesnotmakeyouspecial SO..police alerted," Minogue tweeted on Tuesday morning.

The 43-year-old was instantly inundated with messages of support from the fans she nicknames her `lovers'.

"We got your back. Stay sparkly", wrote one, while another tweeted, "whoever the weirdo is I hope he (I assume its a he) gets what he deserves. Leave Kylie alone".

It is not the first time Minogue has encountered the darker side of fame after receiving hundreds of threatening letters in 2003.

The latest case is unlikely to detract from the pop star's 25th anniversary year celebrations.

Her plans include a live show at Sydney's Mardi Gras in March and re-recordings of classic Kylie tracks backed by an orchestra.
