CD reviews: Led Zeppelin

Forget the raw bombast of Zep I & II, the folky leanings of III or even the commercial success of IV, Physical Graffiti is Led Zeppelin at its most innovative, eclectic and downright groovy.

Reissued 40 years on, and given a polish by Jimmy Page, Physical Graffiti is definitive listening for anyone curious about the hype.

Page has not tinkered with the dynamics, swagger and experimentation that make this one of, if not the greatest, double album of all time.

He has dusted off the master tapes, packaged some previously unreleased tracks and issued it in just about every format an audiophile needs.

Essential.
