Still, his voice has matured ala Motorhead's Lemmy, and most of his banal right-wing rantings are buried in a magnificent mix of crushing riffs and stunning solos in possibly the best Megadeth album since 1990's Rust in Peace.
Dave Ellefson keeps the bottom end nailed down, while Mustaine dips deep into a bag of riffs. New shredder for hire Brazilian Kiko Loureiro is astounding, too.
Megadeth reminds us why it was such a prominent force in the evolution of thrash metal.
