They call AJ Styles "The Phenomenal" because of his spectacular ability in the professional wrestling ring. The TNA Impact star has been in New Zealand promoting the show and answered a few of Hayden Meikle's questions.

Q)
What brings you to New Zealand?

A) I'm just getting out there and spreading the word. Ten years of TNA and we want to get out here and have some fun. I'm glad to be here, man. It's beautiful. I'm only in Auckland for a few days.

I'm getting to see some rugby league, the Warriors, which I'm really excited about.

Q) Have you heard of the Bushwhackers?

A) I think everybody's heard of the Bushwhackers. They were quite strange. I hope the rest of you New Zealanders aren't like that.

Q) TNA is still relatively new to us.

Why do you think people should take a look?

A) We're fresh, we're new and we're something different. We have wrestlers from all over the world. They aren't all trained the same way, so you get to see a lot of different styles. Our world title really means something.

Q) How did you get into wrestling?

A) I had a couple of friends get into it. They found this training facility about 20 minutes from my house in Georgia. When I stepped into the ring, I felt something I'd never felt before. It's what I was meant to do.

Q) Did you dabble in other sports?

A) I played everything. Basketball, baseball, football. And I wrestled at a collegiate level.

Q) Are you bruised and battered after 12-13 years as a pro wrestler?

A) I've been blessed. I haven't been terribly injured. But you know it's going to happen eventually. It's just when and where.

Q) The WWE is obviously No 1 in professional wrestling. Do you TNA guys dream of getting an opportunity with Vince McMahon's giant company?

A) As far as I'm concerned, they're the competition. I don't want to go there. I want to help build TNA. Everyone thinks because WWE have been around longer, they're better. That's not true. If you want to see wrestling at its best, you gotta turn on TNA.

Q)  Hulk Hogan - what's he like?

A) He's a legend. He's known all over the world. I enjoy having him around.

Impact Wrestling is home to some of wrestling's biggest stars, including Hulk Hogan, Sting, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, and has some of the most talented figures in the professional ranks.

A three-hour TNA pay-per-view event is available on Sky Arena on August 13.
