Aussie comedian returns

Australian comic Carl Barron is back in New Zealand for a tour, which includes dates in Dunedin and Queenstown.

The show ''A one ended stick'', is Barron's first in New Zealand for four years, and involves the comedian's trademark combination of monologue, stand-up and music. There are more Troy stories, stories about worms, ants and acid, and being Carl Barron.

Barron grew up in Longreach, Central Queensland, the son of a shearer and is now Australia's highest selling stand-up comedian on DVD.

Since winning ''Comic of the year'' and ''Best Up and Coming Talent'' in Australia, in 1993, Barron has toured extensively in his home country and around the world, including the United States, London, South Africa, Ireland, Singapore, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Edinburgh.

Barron plays the Queenstown Memorial Hall on Tuesday and Dunedin's Regent Theatre on Friday.
