Tractors meander through Wanaka

Tractors meander through Wanaka

Recently it was horses and wagons taking part in the cavalcade meandering down Wanaka 's streets and today it was the tractors' turn.

Looking out the Otago Daily Times branch office's windows on Brownston St offered a view of the hardy 2010 South Island Tractor Trek for Cancer Kids travellers making their way along Brownston St.

Rugged up against the cold, windy day - ear muffs in place - the drivers were scheduled to stop off at the Upper Clutha A and P Show at the Wanaka Showgrounds.

The tractor owners and enthusiasts from around New Zealand are on a 22-day trip from Bluff to Picton and back. In total, 37 tractors, as well as support vehicles are on the trek, which covers about 2500km and has a tentative finishing date of March 16.

Money raised is going to the Child Cancer Foundation.
