Annabel Gudsell, general manager for Tourism Waitaki, spends a lot of time on the road and wears clothing that can travel the distance. But what other treasures are hiding in her wardrobe? Lea Jones takes a look.

How would you describe your style?

I love colour and am very matchy - shoes go with top which goes with bag etc.

Has it evolved over the years?

I have become more conservative but still enjoy wearing colour and some bling. Living in Oamaru, my work wardrobe has become less corporate, it is more relaxed here than working in the city, which I really like.

Describe your wardrobe.

Clothes on top of clothes on top of shoes - I only wear about 20% of my wardrobe ... hoarder.

Whose style do you like or look up to?

Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchett.

Who are your favourite designers?

Bo Boots, Escorial, Tanya Carlson, Annah Stretton, Kingan Jones.

What is your favourite item of clothing?

Black Glassons cardy - it goes with anything and I don't go anywhere without it. As for shoes - Bo Boots; accessory - black beads.

What was the last item of clothing you bought?

A Carlson bright pink summer dress.

What was your best fashion bargain?

TradeMe purchases - there have been many disasters, but some real gems too.

What was your biggest fashion mistake?

501 Jeans, T-bar sandals, and a pink and green tartan ball dress -although the very same material was back in vogue last year. Strange.

A fashion tip?

Wear some colour, lighten up your life.

A beauty tip?

Always have hand cream on your desk at work.

What would you buy if money were no issue?

A heated lap pool.
