Ten years of fashion walked the red carpet at the Otago
Museum last night to celebrate the official opening of the
Southern Trust id Dunedin Fashion Week.
The retrospective show, sponsored by the Otago Daily
Times, marked the 10th anniversary of id.
Ali McD Agency models showed off designs which had appeared
in past events (clockwise from top left): Tristan Burnett
(20) wears Fieke from 2000, Kayleigh Hancock (15), a Margo
Barton hat and Carlson dress from 2006, Yu Ishikawa (21)
wears Sam Mitchell from 2008 and Victoria Cooper (24), Mild
Red from 2001.
Trust chairman Evan Moore said the creativity and inspiration
of such events raised everyone's spirits in tough economic
times, while ODT group advertising sales manager Paul Dwyer
urged people to keep sponsoring such events, which kept
Dunedin "alive and vibrant".
Id fashion committee chairwoman Susie Staley told the
audience this week would be better than ever and urged
everyone to "tramp the streets" tonight to support Dunedin
retailers who were opening their doors for "starlight"
shopping.
The week concludes with the id Dunedin Fashion Show on
Saturday night.
