How would you describe your style?
I had to ask a friend to answer this and she described it as
"edgy".
Has it evolved over the years?
Yes. The collection of clothes dates back to my time in
England in the '90s . . . of course it's worn a bit
differently now than back then, the short dresses are worn
over jeans and things like that.
It also had to change when I moved from Auckland to Oamaru -
I had to learn to wear merinos with my summer dresses.
Describe your wardrobe
The wild with the tame . . . I love things that other people
don't want.
Op-shops and sales racks are amazing places to find different
styles at good prices.
Whose style do you like or look up to?
My mum is a pretty classy chick so I have always been
surrounded by fashion.
I have friends who are very passionate about clothes and I
get wonderful energy from them.
I also love going to the city and seeing what people are
wearing on the street. I love Sarah-Jessica Parker's
style.
If you are looking for someone who has it, anyone who can
dress as an acorn has to be fun.
Who are your current favourite
designers?
Anything goes really but I like Annah S, Bo Radley, David
Pond, Diesel, Levis, Vigorella.
What is your favourite clothing?
I love wearing skinny jeans and boots, but I also have a
beautiful sari that I just adore.
Shoes?
I have lots of boots which is one of the great things about
living in the South. I have a pair of beige Spanish suede
shoes with a pointy toe to die for.
Accessory?
Knee-length clown socks and a pony-tail hair clip.
What was the last item of clothing you
bought?
A denim Levis 501 skirt.
What has been your best fashion
bargain?
I found a Trelise Cooper skirt in an op shop . . . Oamaru has
some fantastic op shops.
What has been your biggest fashion
mistake?
Low-riding hipsters . . . not for everyone.
A fashion tip?
Learn to layer things. It distracts from the bits you don't
like.
A beauty tip?
Get a great beautician who is honest with you . . . makes it
easier and saves those expensive mistakes.
What would you buy if money was not an
option?
Manolo Blahniks - just one pair.
