Albatross chicks, NHNZ executive producers and designer sales - it has been a whirlwind since Doris Raymond set foot in Dunedin.

The iD Dunedin Fashion Week's international guest arrived in the city on Saturday morning.

Raymond is the star of NHNZ's L. A. Frock Stars, put together by executive producer Judith Curran, of Dunedin.

L. A. Frock Stars features Raymond's store The Way We Wore, a Los Angeles vintage fashion outlet that provides clothing to celebrities in the United States.

Raymond said she had dinner with Ms Curran, a highlight, had seen albatross chicks at Taiaroa Head, and done some ''marathon shopping'' at the iD designer sale.

''I love the city because it has the charm of a small town, but the gifts of a town that is not small, you know, culturally.''

The tight schedule meant the queen of vintage fashion may not have the time to trawl secondhand clothing outlets in the South.

But Raymond said she hoped to add that to a schedule that was ''pretty jam-packed''.
