British singer Florence Welch has agreed to become an ambassador for Italian fashion house Gucci.

The 29-year-old lead singer from Florence + the Machine made her first fashion partnership with the designer brand in February.

Welch admitted she never considered being the face of a fashion campaign until she was prompted by its creative director, Alessandro Michele.

The red-haired beauty was Michele's muse for his first Gucci collection after he listened her album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.

Gucci has created Welch's wardrobe for her current How Beautiful tour.

Speaking to Vogue about the partnership, she said: "To be honest, I don't think that it's something that I would have even considered had it not been for Alessandro.

"What he is doing is so up my street that it feels so natural for us to be working together."

Welch admitted she regrets wearing some outfits in the past, but believed she had now found her style identity.

The BRIT Award-winning vocalist explained: "I had a little bit of a break from touring and going to events ... I feel like I've returned to the world of fashion with a much clearer sense of identity."
