The 47-year-old singer-songwriter has partnered with the Italian fashion designer to create a footwear and accessories line called Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez, which he believed was a "natural evolution" for the pair.
Speaking to Vogue online, Zanotti said: "I've always been inspired by Jennifer and love the way she looks in my shoes. It was a natural evolution to collaborate together."
And the Wedding Planner actress - who founded her eponymous clothing label JLO by Jennifer Lopez in 2001 - admitted she had a longstanding passion for extravagant footwear and hinted that she was also excited to work with Zanotti.
"I think it goes without saying that, like every other girl, I love a killer pair of shoes. Whether I'm walking the red carpet or dressed casually, the right shoes complete my outfit to make me feel beautiful, sexy, and fearless."
Zanotti announced the news on his Instagram account, which saw him post a picture of him in discussion with the mother-of-two - who has Maximilian and Emme, both 8, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Alongside the post, he wrote: "A Special Release: Giuseppe Zanotti and Jennifer Lopez are joining creative forces in an exclusive, new capsule collection. #GiuseppexJennifer launches worldwide in January 2017 @JLO #GiuseppeZanotti (sic)"
Zanotti said the collection, which included crystal encrusted boots, embellished wedge trainers and platform shoes, as well as two leather handbags, would be the perfect amalgamation of their style.
"[It will be] like Jennifer, sensual, sophisticated, modern but also playful and edgy."
