FAST FOOD FOR BUSY FAMILIES
Pete Evans
McMillan
Australian chef Pete Evans, co-host of television show My Kitchen Rules continues his mission to convert people to eating healthy the paleo way.

His idea with Fast Food for Busy Families was to show that healthily eating and living does not have to be time-consuming or costly.

Most of his recipes can be made in about 30 minutes and the book includes chapters on children's lunches, snacks, salads, main meals and even a few sweet treats, refined sugar and dairy-free, of course.

There are many international dishes, including satay pork skewers, katsu with curry and lamb gozleme.

RICK STEIN: FROM VENICE TO ISTANBUL
Rick Stein
BBC Books

This is a colourful journey through four countries by one of Britain's most famous chefs.

Starting with everyday favourites such as hummus, to the more exotic avgolemono soup (an egg-thickened Greek soup served with a poached egg), From Venice to Istanbul pays tribute to the food Stein tasted on his journey through Italy, Greece, Croatia and Turkey.

He covers street food from pickles to pizza.

In the meat section, he traverses pot-roasted goat to Albanian baked lamb, and in the poultry section claims to have found the best chicken pie recipe in Greece.

NOPI: THE COOKBOOK
Yotam Ottolenghi and Ramael Scully
Random House NZ

Fans of Yotam Ottolenghi will not be disappointed with this latest book, a collaboration with his NOPI head chef Ramael Scully.

It combines Ottolenghi's Middle Eastern influences with Scully's Asian background and showcases the food of the Soho restaurant.

The dishes are more complex than in his other books as they were created for a team of professional chefs to prepare in his restaurant, but he has attempted to simplify the recipes.

It also includes a handy meal suggestion planner, with options for three-course meals and a cocktail section.
