Eight teams and their supporting companies raised more
than $128,000 for research at the Cure Kids Great Adventure
Race 2010 in Glenorchy on Saturday.
The race began with a challenging trek to the summit of Mt
Alfred - a 1060m vertical ascent - and back down again,
followed by a 20km mountain bike and a final section of
running from Diamond Lake to the finish line at Paradise.
Each team had to raise $10,625 to enter the race, but most
teams went well over and beyond in their fundraising efforts.
Together, the teams raised $128,206.
The team from Cadbury raised $33,000.
Gen-i raised $23,000 and Livingstones $21,000.
Team Cool Runnings from Ernst and Young, Christchurch, came
first in five hours and 22 minutes.
Second was Team Rascals Return from Gen-i, Christchurch, five
hours and 28 minutes.
Third was Team Colliers HP from Colliers International,
Queenstown, six hours and nine minutes.
