Cereal minimises fodmaps to help digestion

We all know that uncomfortable feeling when we've eaten something that just does not agree with our tummies.

Careful choices about what we eat can make a world of difference. Experts at Melbourne's Monash University have discovered that some carbohydrates or ''Fodmaps'' are harder to digest, particularly for sufferers of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Fodmap (fermentable oligo-, di- and monosaccharides and polyols) is a short way to describe a type of carbohydrate found in certain foods which can cause discomfort in people's stomachs and can be a trigger for symptoms of IBS.

Vogel's has specially formulated a cereal to minimise ingredients known to be high in fodmaps. Cafe-Style Light Almond & Ancient Grains is a blend of toasted buckwheat, almonds, chia and quinoa, with wholegrain oats for sustained energy and a mix of linseeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, raisins and dried cranberries.
