From those with delcious-looking sugary treats to healthy whole foods, there have been a range of recipe books released in recent months.

This is the ultimate coffee-table book for lovers of deserts, with amazing photographs of the dishes, although it also includes practical step-by-step instructions on how to create some of his masterpieces including Zumbo's version of the cronut - a Zonut.

Zumbo is one of Australia's top patissiers and has eight stores throughout New South Wales and Victoria.

He is well known for his signature ''Zumbronos'' - his take on a macaroon - and the book includes flavours such as caramelised white chocolate and lavender thyme strawberry, and burnt toast and chocolate brownie.

All is not lost for those with a savoury tooth, with a chapter dedicated to quiches and pies, including step-by-step instructions for a ''ruff puff'' pastry.

 

THE WORLD'S BEST BRUNCHES

For anyone looking for inspiration for lazy Sunday morning dishes there are plenty to pick from in the World's Best Brunches.

It features recipes for brunch dishes from around the world, from Ireland's colcannan to Vietnamese' Pho.

Each recipe is accompanied by a tale of its origins and where to find it if you are on the road.

New Zealand is included with a recipe for whitebait patties - with egg only - and served with thinly sliced white bread.

Sydney food and travel writer Kate Gibbs tells the story of grandmother Margaret Fulton, known as the ''matriach of Australian cooking'', intermingled with recipes reflecting both their cooking styles.

There is a mix of classics such as Scotch broth and homemade crumpets reflecting Margaret's Scottish heritage, as well as Kate's modern take on slow-roasted lamb and custard-filled chocolate profiteroles.

Along the way you learn more about the pair's family, Margaret's food journey and how integral food is to their lives.

My Kitchen Rules chef Pete Evans' discovery of paleo eating is well documented in the press and gossip magazines.

Going Paleois the book he wrote before his proposed paleo book for children hit the headlines.

It details and whys and wherefores of his decision to go paleo as well as a ''how to'' on going paleo.

The recipes are quick and easy, although having bolognase on sauteed kale instead of the traditional spaghetti takes some getting used to.

There is also a section on how to make the bone broths and condiments used in the recipes.

 

THE DETOX KITCHEN BIBLE

This is a combination cook book and health guide book with recipes by The Detox Kitchen's Lily Simpson and wellbeing advice from nutritionist Rob Hobson.

The pair have the aim of ''great health through great food''.

The Detox Kitchen, a food delivery service specialising in meals free from wheat, dairy and refined sugar, has a celebrity following in the United Kingdom.

Each recipe by Simpson comes with its calorie count and a list by Hobson of vitamin and minerals it is rich in and whether it can be helpful for the likes of your bones, digestion, immunity or heart.

 

DELICIOUSLY ELLA

London-based Ella Woodward is training to be a nutritionist and is one of the many healthy-eating food bloggers on the internet these days.

She describes herself as a ''reformed sugar monster'' and believes it is possible to create delicious healthy versions of your favourite dishes.

As with the Dextox Bible, her recipes are sugar-free, gluten-free and dairy-free.

Her aim was to show healthy eating was not about deprivation and starvation.

The book includes lots of dips, raw treats and colourful vegetable dishes.
