Wine reviews: Dessert Wines

Lusciously sweet golden wines are too sweet and rich to drink in quantity, but with a crisp biscotti, someblue cheese or dried apricots, they are delicious to sip. Most of these are young and a an extrayear or so's bottle age will allow the best to develop more complexity.

ANOTHER GLASS

Pasquale Limoncello 2011

$49

Limoncello is an Italian liqueur made from spirit and lemon zest and this is made from Antonio Pasquale's family recipe. It's intensely lemony with a big hit of alcohol - no wonder as it's 35.1%.

They recommend storing it in the freezer and serving shots for an aperitif or digestif, but it would also be good used to flavour cheesecake or other desserts, poured over ice cream or diluted and used to soak a cake, too.
