Port Chalmers Lions Club Annual Garden Fete at Lady Thorn Rhododendron Dell, Church St, Port Chalmers, 11am-2.30pm. Arts, crafts, and plant stalls. Free. Lions rhododendrons for sale $12 each. Live music by the Three Altos. Special display of historical photos of Port Chalmers. Come and view the rhododendrons at their best.

Tuesday, October 28
Get Growing workshop, Frankton Kindergarten, 13 Robertson St, Queenstown, 6-8pm. Create a bountiful vegetable garden, building raised beds, planting seedlings and choosing top crops with Dr Compost. Funded by Queenstown Lakes District Council. Free.

Wednesday, October 29
Taieri Garden Club members to meet at the Presbyterian Church, Mosgiel, at 6.15pm to car share for visit to Silverdale Garden, Wingatui Rd. Contact Amy, 489-1473, or Nola, 476-3994.

Blueskin Garden Club will be at the Waitati market day selling spuds in a bag.

Tuesday, November 4
Get Composting workshop, Harvest Community Gardens, Gorge Rd, Queenstown, 6-8pm. Easy ways to compost at home, with Dr Compost - finding a system to suit you. Bokashi, traditional compost heaps, worms. Funded by Queenstown Lakes District Council. Free.

Brockville Garden Club will meet at the Community Church hall ready to leave for Waihola at 11.30am sharp. Lunch will be at the Black Swan before visiting two gardens and Mrs Deans. Please bring a gift to the value of $5, a can for the foodbank and $5 for your driver.
