Otago Rose Society's annual show, Forbury Park Raceway, 1.30pm-5pm Saturday, 10am-3.30pm Sunday. Admission $5 (includes afternoon tea). Displays by Otago Iris Society, Dunedin Sugarcraft Guild, Heritage Roses Otago, Dunedin Botanic Garden. Roses, plants and raffles for sale.

Monday December 1
Alexandra Garden Club meets at Central Otago Education Centre at 7pm to visit a local vegetable garden. Christmas supper. Everyone welcome. For information, please telephone (03) 448-7809 or (03) 448-7166.

Maori Hill Garden Club meets in the Maori Hill Community Hall at 10am for Christmas morning tea, followed by a visit to local courtyard gardens.

Tuesday, December 2
Brockville Garden Club meets in the Community Church Hall, 1.30pm. Fun afternoon of quizzes and garden hints. Bring party plate.

Wednesday, December 3
Otago Rose Society monthly meeting is a bus trip to the Van Delft rose nursery at Wingatui. Members to meet at St Peter's Church hall at 6.30pm.

Thursday, December 4
Otago Alpine Garden Group hosts a talk by Scottish alpine plant specialist Ian Christie, who is speaking on ''Plants from Early Scottish Botanists''. Mornington Presbyterian Community Centre, Maryhill Tce, at 7.30pm. Entry $5 (includes supper).

Friday, Saturday, December 5-6
North Otago Rose Society Rose Show, Pipe Band Hall. Friday 1pm-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm. Raffles. Free entry.

Saturday, December 6
Otago Lily Society general meeting in the Maori Hill Community Centre at 2pm, bring early flowering lilies for a table show. Tips and advice on how to stage and show blooms, afternoon tea provided. Remember items for the sales table, everyone welcome.

Blueskin Garden Club Christmas break-up meal, Waitati Hall. All members and spouses welcome. Details are in the club email. Please reply this week whether attending or not. Also all those interested in the trip south need to reply to club secretary. Inquiries to 482-2428 or 482-2896.

Wakatipu Plunket Garden Tour, 10am-4pm. Includes two New Zealand Garden Trust gardens. Tickets $30 from Plunket, Harcourts and BNZ town branch and Remarkables Park.
