Beekeeping is a growing hobby but there is a lot to learn, especially when you are starting out.
The Dunedin Beekeepers Club is holding a beginners' course starting on September 19.
The Hobby Bee Keeping introductory course will be made up of two half days, one theory and one practical.
Students will learn some essential theory of beekeeping, and the practical issue of how to open a hive safely. Students will need a bee suit or veil, smoker and hive tool.

Hobby Bee Keeping intro starts September 19, 1pm 5pm. Cost $60 plus $30 for membership of the club.
