Southern Steel captain Wendy Frew recently celebrated a miletstone, playing her 100th ANZ Championship netball match for the franchise.

What was the best birthday present you ever received, and why?
Tickets to Rod Stewart performing in Dunedin last year from my mate Bathy and jewellery from the hubby - you can never go wrong with jewellery.

What smell do you find irresistible?
Mum's roast meal. You just can't beat it.

What is your least favourite thing about humanity?
People who tell lies. Honesty really is the best policy.

What is one strong childhood memory?
Playing sport at the park with my siblings. It was so much fun and we didn't have a care in the world. I hope to emulate that kind of carefree childhood for Archie and Indie.

What is your message?
Live life to the full, have no regrets and leave no stone unturned.
