Bradley (Brad) John Kreft and Grace Elizabeth Kreft (nee Brown)
Ages: Both 27
Occupations: Graphic Designer and Cake decorator.
Region: Wellington

When and where did you meet?:
A bit embarrassing to say, but we actually met at The Cook-athon (the all-day pub marathon at the infamous Captain Cook Tavern in Dunedin!), during O-Week of our second year at the University at Otago. About as romantic as you can get!

The proposal:
Brad proposed over a picnic-breakfast on our lounge floor. We were even wearing our pyjamas! Then he whisked me away for a romantic weekend in Martinborough. It suited us to a T.

Where was the wedding?:
Our wedding was at the Lookout Lodge in Wanaka.

Why did you choose the venue?:
We chose to get married in Wanaka because most of Brad's family live there, or nearby, and it's by far our favourite spot in New Zealand. When you see Lookout Lodge you'll know why we chose it: gorgeous mountain setting, stunning views, barn-style building. The wedding was all held outdoors in the beautiful Wanaka sunshine, but the Lodge had a good back-up indoor option, which is important to have just in case (luckily we didn't need on the day).

The dress:
My dress was made especially for me by Erin Taylor, and was inspired by a haute-couture design I'd fallen in love with. It had layers and layers of silk georgette, and was a soft-dusky pink colour.

The bridesmaids' dresses:
My girls' dresses were actually a great find from Glassons! Since my dress was slightly pink, my bridesmaids (perhaps controversially!) wore white. We wanted light, summery, casual dresses for the bridesmaids, as the wedding was anything but formal.

The flowers:
I had a simple bouquet of cream peonies. We were cutting it very fine for peonies to be in season in January, but the amazing Andrea Crawford Flowers in Queenstown made sure I had a gorgeous bouquet of my favourite flowers.

The caterers:
We were lucky to work with Kristi and the amazing team at Flying Trestles Catering in Wanaka. We had a rustic BBQ meal with lots of delicious salads, meat and breads, all served outdoors. The food was delicious and the catering staff were so friendly and helpful on the day.

The photographer and favourite photo:
Simon Darby was our photographer, and he did such an amazing job. We love our photos, they capture the spirit of our day perfectly and Simon was also really great to have around on the day. Very hard to choose a favourite photo from so many gorgeous images, but we love this photo of our bridal party. It shows just how relaxed and happy we all were on the day (and how gorgeous Wanaka is, in the background!).

Highlight of the day:
The whole day from start to finish was even more perfect than we hoped, but if we have to choose a highlight, it would probably be our ceremony. Neither of us would have thought that would be the case beforehand, but it ended up being really special and personal to us and our families. Oh, and the gelato truck!
