What bridal couple doesn't want their reception to be a huge
success? All those wedding photos on social media posted by
guests having a wonderful time. Most show glasses raised in a
toast, without a thought given to what went into providing
those glasses and their alcoholic or non-alcoholic contents.

There's a suggestion that the higher the stress levels when
doing the organising, the better the wedding celebrations. No
way, says Michelle Given, Alexandra Super Liquor manager. And
she should know. For some 10 years, Michelle has been
''beverages consultant and supplier'' to well over a hundred
Central Otago weddings. "Like most women, I love weddings and
thoroughly enjoy getting involved with planning and providing
a complete 'one-stop shop' for all beverages," explains
Michelle.
And if you speak to Wanaka Super Liquor manager Kelly Frisby,
Cromwell Super Liquor's Bev Harvey and Tess Reid, and Jenny
McGinnis, manager of Super Liquor in Lorneville, near
Invercargill, they will all sound like Michelle. Love
weddings. Love helping plan beverage requirements. Provide a
''one-stop shop'' that includes free glassware, free chiller
trailer and sale or return purchasing. And like Michelle,
they too have years of experience.
"What I love most is turning worry frowns into beaming
smiles. One way we do this is by providing exactly what is
wanted, even when it includes liquor or wine brands, or
perhaps bubbles, that we don't normally stock. If we can't
get it, and at the best prices too, no-one can," explains
Tess.
Jenny McGinnis states that any brides, grooms or parents
walking into a Super Liquor store with no idea of what is
required are far from alone. "We tend to get two extremes:
fixed ideas and not knowing where to start. That's where
experience really counts. Often we have to encourage
broadening beverage horizons and for those not knowing where
to start, take them through everything. Quantities, types of
beverage, guest age groups. Everything."
A self-confessed romantic, Wanaka Super Liquor's Kelly Frisby
loves receiving thankyou cards, which she says often come
from Wanaka-based parents or relatives who have done the
organising for a bridal couple flying in from elsewhere.
The last word, from Cromwell's Bev Harvey, is that for a
picture-perfect wedding be sure to have Super Liquor at
Wanaka, Cromwell, Alexandra or Lorneville supply all your
beverage requirements. Also visit Super Liquor's website for
