Construction of a cul-de-sac to close Balclutha's ''dangerous'' Ryrie St-State Highway 1 intersection permanently is under way.

Those making submissions on the Clutha District Council's draft annual plan can voice their views at a hearing in Balclutha tomorrow.

Telford's new course training rural animal technicians has been welcomed by farmers and vets.

Random drug and alcohol testing is being carried out at Telford, director Charley Lamb says. It was introduced to protect students and to bring Telford in line with industry requirements, Prof Lamb said.
