The New Zealand Transport Agency has listened to communities
affected by the Diana Falls slip and will extend the opening
hours through the Haast Pass from today.

The New Zealand Transport Agency is trying to establish
better communications between road users and crews working on
the problematic slip on State Highway 6 near the Haast Pass.
State Highway 6, between Haast and Makarora, reopened to
single-lane traffic at noon yesterday following its closure
at the weekend when 20,000 tonnes of rock and gravel fell on
to the highway at Diana Falls.
