Omarama Airfield Ltd is having a good financial year so far,
but its former chairman Hugh Cameron has warned extra
maintenance still to be done could affect the final result.
Omarama residents will be able to hear more news and music
from the outside world when a repaired radio transmitter is
switched on later this month.
Glider pilots across New Zealand are to be warned of the
dangers of dehydration in hot conditions, following the
findings of a coronial inquiry into the death of a Hororata
pilot who crashed near Omarama.
After four years of hard work, Omarama residents can now see
physical progress on the project to turn their memorial hall
into a community centre.
