Dunedin-based technology company PocketSmith is one of six
finalists in the BNZ Start-Up Alley competition.
The competition is to help grow New Zealand's web and
technology start-up businesses.
Pocketsmith has a competitive personal finance management
tool that allows users to track their expenses.
Pocketsmith is part of the University of Otago's Centre for
Innovation Distiller community.
As part of the Webstock conference in Wellington, the
competition winner will receive a prize pack that includes
$10,000 in cash and return flights for two to San Francisco.
The other finalists are:
• Go Vocab, a language learning start-up founded in
Wellington last year.
• MyTours, an online tour builder for mobile applications.
• Educa, a web-based application for the early childhood
sector.
• Luumin, an online to-do list.
• uSnap.us, a concept service enabling wedding parties to
collect images live as the wedding unfolds.
The winner will be announced on February 16.
