Alison Andrew, a former executive of multi-national
explosives company Orica and a current director of Genesis
Energy, has been appointed chief executive of Transpower,
replacing Patrick Strange who will leave the national power
grid operator early next year.
Andrew is an engineer by background and has held a number of
senior executive roles in a number of industries, including
energy, chemicals, dairy, and pulp and paper, Transpower
Her most recent role was global head of chemicals for Orica.
Prior to that, she was chief executive of Lexicon group and
held a number of senior roles at Fonterra and Fletcher
Transpower chairman Mark Verbiest said Ms Andrew's background
would help drive further improvements throughout the company.
