Refurbishment of industrial building planned

The former Scott Technology building in Crawford St, Dunedin, is to have a multimillion-dollar refurbishment, pending Dunedin City Council approval.

Two-stage refurbishment plans by premises owner Oakwood Properties Ltd envisages the office and workshop space stripped down and a state-of-the-art interior introduced, Oakwood director David Marsh said.

"It will be a total refurbishment of the office and workshop space. It's going to be a particularly high spec office going in,"he said.

While the inside would be totally revamped, the size of the building's perimeter would not be altered, he said.

Lund South has been awarded the contract for the first stage of refurbishment, which it is hoped will be finished next March, with the second stage scheduled for completion in October.

The design contract for the interior architecture has been awarded to Parker Warburton Team Architecture Ltd Dunedin, with the first stage of the development of the upper level costing $1 million.
