Superior Minerals is on the move.

The Mosgiel-based solid fertiliser company has outgrown its premises in the Mill Park Industrial Estate on Factory Rd.

In December, the company will take over 3500sq m of the prominent Wickliffe Press building on the same road.

Superior Minerals was established in 2001 and was last year named Otago and lower South Island regional winner in the fastest-growing manufacturer category in the Deloitte Fast 50.

The company had been planning a move as part of its growth strategy for some time and had been trying to identify a suitable site.

''With the demand for our products and approach, we needed more room,'' general manager Gerald Davies said.

With the increasing environmental pressures on farmers, the company had been getting ''more and more interest'' in its approach, he said.

The new operation would include a fully automated plant capable of custom fertiliser mixes and at least double the storage of the existing site.

The company's client base is predominantly from Canterbury south.
