WHK Taylors grows

Accountancy group WHK Taylors Otago will be joined on November 2 by two Oamaru firms - Brady and Wollstein and Scott and Co.

WHK tax principal and spokesman Scott Mason said these were the first firms with which WHK Otago had merged.

"For us, it's the logical story. We have a strong agribusiness client base with Milton, Lawrence, Dunedin and now North Otago offices. It makes sense because we understand the industry and have a dedicated agribusiness team."

North Otago was a major economic growth area of the region, he said.

The Waitaki Valley provided "real opportunities" for business growth.

The two Oamaru firms had 20 staff between them to take the total WHK Taylors staff in the region to 100 from the merger date, Mr Mason said.

Gordon Scott, of Scott and Co, said the merger was an exciting move for his clients and staff.

Colin Wollstein said it was an opportunity for his firm's clients and staff to benefit from the strength of the WHK organisation.

The WHK Group is a network of 20 accounting and financial service firms across Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Mason said that although that could seem large, both Oamaru firms were similar in size to the average WHK office.
