Former Dunedin woman Fiona Paterson is a finalist in a
national Woman of the Year contest.
A former Dunedin rower is a finalist in a national
magazine's Woman of the Year competition.
Fiona Paterson, who is a finalist in the sports category of
the Next magazine competition, is in Switzerland representing
New Zealand in the women's quadruples sculls at the World Cup
regatta in Lucerne.
Paterson (27) was diagnosed with cervical cancer at 23, but
fought back to fitness to return to her rowing career.
She first represented New Zealand at 17.
Raised on her family's sheep station in Poolburn, Central
Otago, Paterson boarded at Columba College.
She is now based in Cambridge, Waikato.
The winner will be announced next month.
