Police will today continue to scour the Dunedin coast for a
body spotted offshore yesterday.
A police helicopter crew saw the body near Lawyer's Head
before dawn yesterday, following concerns about a person
living in the area.
A search of the coast and water failed to find the body,
believed to be that of a woman, but police found personal
items thought to be related.
Senior Sergeant Craig Brown told NZPA a coastal search would
resume this morning.
Police would also consider sending out an inflatable boat or
fixed-wing aircraft.
The circumstances of the death were still being investigated,
although it was not considered suspicious at this stage.
