Former Dunedin mayor Peter Chin will finish his role as the
Gambling Commission chief gambling commissioner at the end of
the year.
Internal Affairs minister Nathan Guy thanked Mr Chin, who has
served with the Gambling Commission since 2004, and whose
three-year term expires on December 31.
Former MP Graeme Reeves has been appointed chief gambling
commissioner and Lisa Hansen (both appointees from
Wellington) as a new gambling commissioner.
The Gambling Commission is an independent statutory
decision-making body.
The Commission hears casino licensing applications, and
appeals on licensing and enforcement decisions made by the
Secretary of Internal Affairs in relation to gaming machines
and other non-casino gambling activities.
